Elite Racing and Visitors
The Elite Racing Group consists of the
following category riders:
- Masters and Ladies members who
have an average speed from previous season of
37km/h or more.
- UCI category riders Junior, U23 and
Elite i.e. age 17 to 29 who cannot be members of Masters and
Ladies because of age criteria.
- Any Masters and
Ladies member who does not have an average speed of 37km/h or more
but wishes to ride in the Elite Racing group.
- The Elite Racing Group starts
at 06h00 or 06h30, dependant on month of year. This is 2 minutes BEFORE the Masters
and Ladies A group.
Visitors Racing Group consists of the
following category riders:
- Junior, U23 and Elite age category
riders who cannot maintain a average speed of 37km/h or who regularly finish in a time that is more
than 5% of the winning Elite Racing Group time.
- U17 and U15
Boys who enter the full series of races.
- Any day visitor that
does not qualify for the Elite Racing Group.
- The Visitors Racing Group starts 2
minutes AFTER the Masters and Ladies G group (18 minutes after
Elite Group or depending on race start gaps between groups)
Races Excluded from Elite Racing and Visitors
The following Masters and Ladies races are EXCLUDED:
- Gravel Road Race (closed to only M&L club members)
- Time Trial (age group competition for M&L club members)
- Hill Climb (age group competition for M&L club members)
that can be participated in but not part of Series Entry Fee
The following races can be participated in but the event entry fee
needs to be paid in addition to the series entry fee.
- Stage Race (TT, HC and Road Race)
Club Racing Rules and
General Rules that is non-negotiable
The club has racing rules in place which are applicable to
Masters and Ladies racing and some general rules that MUST be
adhered to by all participants. These
are non negotiable rules and not adhering to these rules will result in
disqualification and discontinuing you participation in the
series or as a visitor in future races.
1. Elite Racing Group and Visitors Racing Group must start
within their designated start group. You may NOT start in the
Masters and Ladies other seeded groups.
2. If you are caught by any of the Masters
and Ladies seeded groups you MUST sit at the back of that group
and may not participate in the group by means of pace making,
sprinting at the finish or assist the group in any manner. You
are a "passenger" in that group and must remain behind
all riders of that group for the duration of the race or until
you are dropped again by the group.
3. If you catch any
Masters and Ladies seeded group you may not participate in the
group by means of pace making, sprinting at the finish or assist
the group in any manner. The Masters and Ladies seeded group
riders also has a responsibility not to use you in the group
either. If you are strong and fast enough you must pass the group
and continue with your own race.
3. The rule of the road applies i.e. keep to the left, and no
crossing of a solid barrier line.
4. No following vehicles are allowed to follow you. Spectators
may go to strategic points along the route and wait for you to pass
and then proceed safely avoiding going on the same route as far
as possible to the next advantage point and wait for you there
again until you pass.
